I read the same book to my son several times a day, everyday for years. He could recite the entire book. He loved it so much it fell apart . Istill have the unbound, well loved pages. This new book is a surprise for him on his 21st birthday. I hope he reads it to his children someday.

This wonderful fantasy book has haunted me since I read it over and over to my young boys years ago. the tatty library copy was worn out by the time they outgrew it and by then I knew it by heart! this story stopped my young children being frightened of thunder and lightening storms, enabling them to be seen in another light. Now I have my owncopy and my grandbubs will love it too I'm certain.
Awesome! Great condition, my daughter loved having her favorite childhood book again.
Now THIS is a dragon book. Read it out loud with children on your lap and watch their eyes grow round with each new page. The illustrations are quite simply amazing and carry the text through a couple of minor glitches. (Once or twice the poetry is strained.) The concept of the book--that dragons may still be "out there" somewhere--will have even small readers wondering. This book has a real impact on its audience.
Back in second grade I found this book on the shelf of my school library. I was entranced by the beautiful pictures and checked it out over and over again. I seem to recall even writing my own "book" about where I thought the dragons went after reading it a couple dozen times. Finally, years later, remembering it, I bought myself a copy. I must say that I am 17 and still in love with this book. The story is nice and the pictures are simply stunning. I recommend it for any parent looking for a book to buy their kid or simply anyone who likes dragons, though I suggest getting the hardback copy because my paperback is starting to fall apart from use.
In a family of fantasy and dragon lovers, this is a wonderful book! I found one in a thrift store and ordered a copy for one of the adult kids. Another adult kid wants a copy for her home. This particular copy was much more damaged than other books I have purchased with the same condition listed.
My favorite book as a kid now I got one for my 4 year old daughter. Hard to find tho.
