It isn’t absolutely necessary to read the first three books in the series before this one, but be prepared, because this book will spoil the ending of those books. (And who would want to skip them, Alexander & Clara are freaking HOT!) In the first three books we got to know Belle since she was Clara’s college friend and flat mate. Belle helped Clara out, but was busy planning her own aristocratic wedding to the boring-in-bed Phillip, that is until he was caught cheating.

Belle has to figure out where to go from there. Her family estate is on the verge of bankruptcy and needed Phillip’s money to support her and keep their estate solvent. Belle has never had to use her Oxford degree, but now she is looking for her first ever job. And when she finally lands one, she is going to have to work hard at keeping her knickers in place as well. He’s hot, sexy and dangerous in a way that we’re just not sure of…yet.

Smith Price is an extremely successful lawyer. As for his area of expertise…we don’t know exactly. But one can be sure that he defends the wealthiest of the wealthy criminal world based on the amount of money he makes & can just seemingly throw around. He is seriously attracted to Belle, but tries to keep himself at a distance because he knows that getting close to her is not only dangerous to him, but could be life threatening to her.

As much as Belle & Smith try to stay away in the very beginning, those trials are soon tossed by the wayside and they begin some sort of quasi relationship. They aren’t sure where or how far they are willing to take it, but as more time passes, they want it all from each other. And they are so FREAKING HOT together. They explore mainly Belle’s sexual boundaries, because Smith’s are well-known to him and much further than Belle’s.

We do get to see some characters from previous books like King Alexander & Clara, Prince Edward & David, and Clara’s sister. We also see people we love to hate, like Phillip & Pepper. Then there is the nefarious jeweler, Hammond & his “daughter”/employee Georgia, who I did not care for in the previous books, and at first hated her during this one, but there is something there that could possibly change my mind. The jury is still out on her.

There is a nefarious plot going on behind this story and it is hinted at, eluded to and even somewhat briefly discussed, but the readers are left wondering because it never fully comes to light. The book doesn't end on an edge-of-the-seat cliffy, but it does leave you hanging, not knowing what comes next or what will happen, but things are about to change.

I really expected Belle's story to have been more tasteful. Her character from the other books didn't come off as a submissive, even if only in the bedroom. I'm not liking Smith much. His character is complicated and secretive. Their relationship just went too fast in this book for me and got complicated faster. I came out of this book feeling "did I miss something?" Why does Hammond have it out for Belle? Even if he's a pedophile, why would Smith think he would go after a grown adult in her 20's? I guess Convet Me will give me my answers.

Belle is trying to take control of her life after she found her fiancée cheating. She has sworn off men and is ready to stand on her own two feet. First step is finding a job. When she walks into Smith Price's office for an interview she is not prepared for who is behind the desk.

Smith Price hides many secrets but one he can't hide is that he wants Belle but at what price is he willing to pay to have her.

Geneva doesn't hold anything back in this book. We thought X had a filthy mouth you haven't met Mr. Price yet. The chemistry she created in this book is off the charts and will leave you SCREAMING for more.
5 stars, because I gave the first book in the Royals series a 4. This was infinitely more interesting, with a story much less predictable. I read on my iPad, so I was surprised how quickly I finished this book - in one afternoon - and was ready for more.

Smith and Belle are one of my favorite book couples, just because Belle is a sweet, yet sassy girl, who's been done wrong and is looking to survive heartbreak. Smith has a touch of maffia-man in him - you'll see why - and it just makes this entirely more interesting.

I have very high hopes for the 5th book, for I can't wait to find out Smith's secrets, and how this entire mob thing is going to play out.
I read the first three books in the Royal Saga series, with Alexander and Clara and LOVED them, so of course, I had to go straight on and read about Clara's best friend Belle. I only discovered this author recently but I love the way she writes and I love the characters she produces. They're all very likeable, well, the good ones anyway and although Smith didn't get my heart fluttering as quickly as Alexander did, I grew to like him as I read this book. There's so much mystery behind him though and I can't wait to find out what is going on with him. There was intrigue and I suspect there will be danger, enough to interfere with Belle and Smith's relationship. As with Alexander and Clara's story, the sex is HOT!!! I have gone straight on to the second book for Belle and Smith to see what awaits them.
Oh Belle!! Smith and Belle have great chemistry. Let's not forget that Pepper Spray always has another agenda.
Who is scarier? The jeweler who runs assassins or the lawyer who knows all the secrets? This addition to the Royals Saga is fantastic!! I love that the story picks up where Alexander and Clara are still awaiting the arrival of their princess. Belle needs to find work since she no longer has the prospects of marriage but "personal assistant" to a lawyer is more personal that she knew. I'm anxious to see what comes next since the explanation about Belle's family circumstances are just glossed over. Smith's "family" will undoubtedly make life for Belle and Smith more difficult in the coming sequels. I'm curious as to both Clara's and Alexander's reaction to Smith and his role in her life. PLUS! Where is the press? Best friend to the Queen of England and paparazzi aren't following her? In what world?? Oh - why do I have to wait for the sequel?????
